[ARCHIVED] Utility Bills Will Be Mailed Out This Week

Couple paying bill online

COQUITLAM, B.C. Feb. 23, 2023 – Coquitlam property owners can expect to receive their utility bills in the mail in the coming days.

Utility bills are issued at the end of February and cover the costs for water service, sewer service, garbage and green waste collection. The cost for these utility services is charged separately from property taxes and supports operating costs as well as the replacement of aging infrastructure such as pipes, reservoirs and pumps.

Utility payments are due March 31, 2023. After this date, a 5 per cent penalty will be added to amounts unpaid.

Residents who have questions about their utility bill, or who do not receive a bill, should contact the City’s Revenue Services by phone at 604-927-3050 or email utility_info@coquitlam.ca.

Skip the line and pay your Coquitlam utility bill online. Visit www.coquitlam.ca/utilitypayment for information on payment methods.

Managing Rising Costs

Thousands of residents and property owners rely on Coquitlam’s high-quality services every day. While the City is continually seeking ways to operate more efficiently and generate revenue, including grants from senior levels of government, the cost to deliver these services is also affected by factors beyond the City’s control, including the escalating costs for services provided by Metro Vancouver such as water purchase, sewage treatment and solid waste disposal. In addition, the City continues to face rising costs related to maintaining utility infrastructure, higher construction costs, and impacts related to climate change.

Additional information can be found in the insert mailed with the utility bills or online at www.coquitlam.ca/utility.
