COQUITLAM, B.C., April 20, 2023 – Summer 2023 recreation program registration is coming up in Coquitlam with two dates to watch — one for skating and swimming and one for general recreation and fitness.

 View Recreation Offerings Online

Visit coquitlam.ca/registration to check out current registered and drop-in recreation opportunities for all ages and interests.

For an advance look at this summer’s program offerings before registration opens, visit the website on April 24 for skating and swimming (register starting April 26 at 8:30 a.m.) and May 15 for general recreation and fitness (register starting May 17 at 8:30 a.m.).

 Registration options include:

Reminder: One Set at a Time

Skating and swimming lesson participants can only be registered for one set of lessons at a time. You may register your child for the next set of lessons on the last day of the current set. This allows for more families to gain access to the limited number of available lessons.

Please note, your child will be withdrawn from a program(s) if registered in more than one lesson set or if registered in future lesson sets prior to completing their current lessons.

 Financial Assistance for Recreation

It is now easier than ever to access financial support for Coquitlam’s recreation services. Through the City’s Financial Assistance for Recreation program, qualifying Coquitlam residents will receive 50 free drop-in visits plus a $225 credit they can use for an expanded range of admissions, passes, programs, lessons, exam fees, supplies, equipment rentals and more. For details, or to apply online, visit coquitlam.ca/FinancialAssistanceRec

The City of Coquitlam acknowledges with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-kwuh-tlum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
