Information Session: Interim Official Community Plan

The City of Coquitlam is inviting the community to learn more and share feedback on a streamlined, more user-friendly Official Community Plan (OCP). 

We have consolidated over 60 land use designations and 2,100 policies to clarify policy direction. We have also incorporated updates necessary to implement provincial housing legislation (Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing, Transit-Oriented Areas and Housing Needs). 

We have not added new growth areas or changed policy directions, except where needed to implement provincial legislation. This housekeeping update focuses on restructuring the document into an easier-to-use format. 

What’s in the draft Interim OCP? 

  • A streamlined, more user-friendly document with clear policy directions and maps 
  • Consolidated and updated Urban Design Guidelines to expedite approval processes 
  • Policies required to support provincial housing legislation 
  • Regional Context Statement in alignment with Metro 2050
