COQUITLAM, B.C., November 21, 2024 – In response to community requests following two in-person public information sessions in October, Coquitlam will hold a virtual session on Tuesday, December 3, from 6 – 8 p.m. to provide further information on the City’s approach to implementing provincial housing legislation changes.
This session will focus on Transit-Oriented Areas, neighbouring shoulder areas, and key corridors in Southwest Coquitlam, and also include a brief overview of Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing.

Provincial legislative legislation are reshaping how Coquitlam manages growth and development, with implications such as limited public hearings, removal of parking minimums for certain housing projects, and new development financing rules. About the Virtual Session
Building on community feedback from October’s in-person public sessions, this virtual event will focus on planning updates for Transit-Oriented Areas, adjacent shoulder areas, and key corridors in Southwest Coquitlam, with an overview of Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing. The online session will feature a presentation by Planning staff, followed by a Q&A segment.
