Coquitlam residents, business owners, and community partners are invited to take part in an open discussion with City councillors at an upcoming Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, May 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.

COQUITLAM, B.C., April 9, 2025 – Coquitlam residents, business owners, and community partners are invited to take part in an open discussion with City councillors at an upcoming Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, May 7, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Community feedback plays a key role in shaping Coquitlam’s future. It helps council and staff understand community priorities, improve City services, and explore new opportunities.

What to Expect at the Town Hall Meeting

There’s no set agenda—just an open forum where you can share your thoughts, propose ideas, and ask questions directly to City council. Senior City staff will also be on hand to listen and provide insights.

Town Hall meetings are a great way to connect with your local government and meet fellow community members.

How to Participate

Everyone is welcome to participate:

In person: join the meeting live in Council Chambers at City Hall (3000 Guildford Way, Coquitlam)

Online via the Zoom webinar: registration is required. Use the “raise hand” feature in the Zoom webinar.

Email: submit questions or comments to TownHall@coquitlam.ca with “Town Hall” in the subject line before 4 p.m. on May 7, the day of the Town Hall.

Social media: tag or direct message us on Facebook or Instagram before 4 p.m. on May 7, the day of the Town Hall.

Watch live: the meeting can also be viewed live at coquitlam.ca/Webcasts. Those who are unable to view live will be able to watch the recording posted at coquitlam.ca/Webcasts

Advance questions are encouraged, but questions will be accepted in person or via Zoom during the Town Hall on May 7, 2025. Due to time limitations, it may not be possible to answer all questions. Also, if there are several questions that are similar, only one question may be put to Council. Every effort will be made to address as many questions as possible.

Staff will follow up on questions that do not receive a response at the Town Hall after the meeting. Responses will be posted at coquitlam.ca/TownHall following the Town Hall. Anonymous submissions will not be considered for follow up. Questions that are not within the municipal area of responsibility may not be answered. Learn more about the roles and responsibilities of each level of government.

Questions to Council must follow the City’s guidelines for a respectful meeting. Find details at coquitlam.ca/TownHall. Meeting minutes summarizing discussion at the Town Hall will be available and published at coquitlam.ca/Webcasts at a later date.

Participants are advised that by submitting a question, comment or suggestion, the information you provide, including your name and address, will become part of the public record and will be made available on the City’s website at coquitlam.ca. The information collected and used is done so in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
