[ARCHIVED] Register for October Recreation Programs as of Sept. 16

Coquitlam

Coquitlam’s popular recreation programs for October are now available for viewing and registrations begin on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

COQUITLAM, B.C., Sept. 15, 2020 – Coquitlam’s popular recreation programs for October are now available for viewing at www.coquitlam.ca/registration and registrations begin on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Everybody’s favourite programs are available for all ages and abilities: fitness classes; expanded offerings for swimming and skating lessons (preschool and school-aged children); early years, parent-and-tot and children recreation activities; programs to help youth connect and engage; adult and senior general interest and wellness programs as well. Popular after-school programs are also available.

Coquitlam Program Information Available Online

Online registration is available 24/7 and will begin Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 8:30 a.m. Register by phone at 604-927-4386 as of Thursday, Sept. 17, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (except for statutory holidays), and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Keeping You Safe Indoors

Facility access and activities have been modified to ensure safe distancing, hand hygiene, reduced touchpoints and other health precautions. For example, only people with registered timeslots will be able to enter, different entrances are assigned to each activity, and users will be asked to not loiter and to leave promptly after finishing their activity.

Signs, floor markings and facility staff will provide guidance at the sites, and further details and maps can be found at www.coquitlam.ca/registration.

Each site has a safety plan including:

  • Staff training
  • Using appointments and registration to control access
  • Physical alterations to ensure distancing, such as Plexiglas barriers, signs and floor markings
  • Changing practices and programs to reduce touchpoints and ensure distancing
  • Limiting group sizes and adjusting locations as necessary

The City’s plans are flexible – they may be scaled back or modified to protect public health.

September Programs & Pre-Registered Drop-ins Still Available

Registration also remains open for our September programs and there are lots of spaces still available. Coquitlam’s activities, formerly offered on a drop-in basis, are also available by pre-registration. Registration is available 24 hours in advance and registration details are available online at www.coquitlam.ca/registration.
