Coquitlam is hosting its third AccessAbility Resource Fair this year—a free event for people to learn, connect and explore local supports.

• 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. 
• Pinetree Community Centre (1260 Pinetree Way)

Local organizations will be sharing information about accessible programs and services available in Coquitlam. The event includes a variety of booths, activities and opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved: 

• Join a Self-regulation and Interoception Workshop for Parents and Caregivers from 1:30 – 3 p.m., with free supervised sensory-friendly activities for children
• Watch Unified Sports play a friendly basketball game against the Coquitlam Fire Department from 1:45 – 2:45 p.m. 
• Give Chair Fit a try from 3 – 3:30 p.m., followed by Floor Curling from 3:45 – 4:15 p.m. 
• Take part in a Service Canada seminar from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. 
• Relax in one of the low-sensory spaces.
• Learn about Coquitlam’s Accessibility and Inclusion initiatives and the Universal Access-Ability Advisory Committee.

The event is fragrance-free and close to transit. Pinetree Community Centre has accessible door openers, parking stalls, washrooms and an elevator. Curb letdowns from the sidewalk to the parking lot and a drop-off loop allow for easy access to the front door. Visit coquitlam.ca/AAW for more information.
