2. Important information before completing the form

   Please note, the City of Coquitlam only provides curbside collection service to single-family homes, duplexes and some multi-plexes with 8 units or less. The City supplies one Garbage Cart and one Green Cart to each residence that we service. Green Cart collection is every week and Garbage Cart collection is every 2 weeks.

   Please visit our Cart Repairs and Exchanges page for information on cart measurements for the various sized carts. When choosing your cart sizes, please consider your household needs, the secure storage space you have available for the carts, and the different fees associated with the Garbage Cart size you choose. 

   The Garbage Fee on your annual utility bill is determined by the size of your Garbage Cart only. The larger the Garbage Cart, the higher the Garbage Fee. The size of your Green Cart does not affect the Garbage Fee on the annual utility bill. 

   You will be asked to pay the pro-rated Garbage Fee for the remainder of the year before we deliver any new carts. The Garbage Fee pays for your garbage and green waste collection as well as other programs like our Large Item Pick-Up and Seasonal Unlimited Yard Trimmings collection.

18. Recycling Information

    The City of Coquitlam does not manage curbside recycling. It is a service provided at no cost to residents by Recycle BC through their contractor, GFL Environmental. To arrange delivery of recycling boxes and bags, please contact GFL Environmental directly by email or call 604-529-4011.
