Metro Vancouver (Coquitlam) Water Main Project – Robson to Guildford Section
Metro Vancouver is constructing a new water main in Coquitlam to meet the growing demand for drinking water in the region. The Coquitlam Water Main is approximately 12 kilometres long, and will be built in sections, starting with the Robson to Guildford Section in 2023. This section of the Coquitlam Water Main will be 1.4 kilometres long, and extend along Pipeline Road, between Robson Drive and Guildford Way. Construction will take approximately two and a half years.
If you have questions or concerns on the construction you can contract Metro Vancouver's Community Liaison directly at 604-432-6200 or by email to email@example.com (include "Coquitlam Water Main" in the subject line).
Once the water main between David Avenue and Guildford Way is installed, the City of Coquitlam will upgrade Pipeline Road in the same area. The City of Coquitlam will also lead the restoration phase, which will include tree replanting along the project site and in Town Centre Park.
Metro Vancouver - North Road Sewer Phase 2
The North Road Sewer pipe collects sewage from the Cities of Burnaby and Coquitlam, and carries it to the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in the City of Delta. To ensure wastewater continues to be managed safely and to accommodate regional growth, upgrades to the North Road Sewer pipe are necessary.
The new pipe is being constructed in multiple phases over the next several years. Construction for the second phase of the project extending along North Road from Lougheed Highway to Clarke Road, is expected to begin in late 2023 and last up to 18 months.
