Bylaw Enforcement

Bylaw Enforcement & Animal Services is responsible for animal care and control services in the City of Coquitlam.

Coquitlam’s animal care and control bylaws focus on responsible pet ownership, encompassing both public safety and good animal welfare. The most common bylaws that regulate the keeping and care of pets in our community are:

Jurisdiction

With the exception of animal sheltering services provided to the City of Port Moody, the City of Port Coquitlam and the City of Pitt Meadows, we provide services for the City of Coquitlam only. Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows stray animals are housed at the Coquitlam Animal Shelter, but we do not respond to Port Moody, Port Coquitlam or Pitt Meadows bylaw enforcement concerns or complaints.
