Lights at Lafarge Vendor and Entertainment Emails
The City of Coquitlam is warning food vendors and entertainers about emails claiming to recruit participants for the 2026 Lights at Lafarge kick-off event.
The messages ask recipients to submit an application and pay a $300 registration fee. These emails are not from the City of Coquitlam.
The City's official food vendor application process closed on September 25 and vendors were not asked to pay a fee when applying. Payment was only required from selected vendors after completing additional requirements.
When receiving communications about City events:
- Check the full sender email address. Official City of Coquitlam communications will come from an email address ending in @coquitlam.ca.
- Verify event and application information directly through coquitlam.ca.
- Be cautious of unexpected requests for payment or personal, business or financial information.
- Do not click links or open attachments in suspicious emails.
- If you're unsure whether a communication is legitimate, do not reply to the email. Contact the City directly using contact information found on coquitlam.ca.
