Recreation Program Proposals

We're committed to providing recreation opportunities that are diverse, inclusive and accessible. Through partnerships with local organizations, businesses and instructors, we offer wide range of programs to our community. If you have a program idea that aligns with our goals and serves the community, we want to hear from you!

Overview of our Partnership Opportunities

Individuals or organizations can propose new programs for consideration and potential inclusion in our recreation offerings. Proposals should describe the program concept in detail and will be reviewed by City staff. If approved, proposers will collaborate with designated staff to bring the program to life.

We welcome ideas for all ages, including early years, children, youth, adults, older adults and special events. Programs that align with the following focus areas are of particular interest: Health and Wellness, Learning and Discovery, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Sports and Active Play.

Some examples of partnership programs currently offered in Coquitlam include:

  • Stroke Recovery Association of BC
  • Jumpstart Music and Movement
  • Canucks Autism Network
  • Byte Camp Education Society

Submission Deadlines

Program proposals are reviewed based on our recreation program registration cycles. To be considered for a specific season, submissions should be received by the corresponding deadline:

  • Winter (January – March): Proposals due at the beginning of June
  • Spring (March – June): Proposals due at the beginning of October
  • Summer (June – September): Proposals due at the beginning of January
  • Fall (September – January): Proposals due at the beginning of March

Submit a Proposal

You are welcome to submit program proposals at any time. These submissions are reviewed as staff time and resources allow. Proposals initiated by a business or organization without a specific request from the City may be submitted at any time, while proposals submitted in response to a City request are reviewed according to a defined process.

When the City identifies a need for specific recreation programs, we will post a call for proposals with clear timelines and submission requirements. If you have a program idea and do not see an active call for proposals on this page, you are encouraged to submit your proposal using the link below.
